Wordless Wednesday: A Father's Labor Support
I took this photo of an amazing couple during labor. The father and mother's love for each other shined so beautifully. His caring presence and touch was a great comfort to her.
Reminds me of my last birth. The midwife had the bed in a chair like position, with my feet on a lowered part (completely upright). Between contractions I may have slept (near 10 cm...not pushing yet). When I had the contractions, we held hands just like that and I would stroke his fingernail on the index finger. He just stayed there and quietly waited. We did this for several minutes (maybe 10-20). I think this photo would look about the same for me, except he was on the other side...
beautiful photo, such a special moment captured. I am grateful for the support that my husband provided during my labor/birth.
